Born in Palermo, Salvatore Raieli attended a Biotechnology degree at a university in Paris for his PhD. Obtaining his PhD in Immunology at the Institute Curie focusing his studies on the innate immunity response. Salvatore moved to Bologna to work as bioinformatician in Biogenera.
Salvatore Raieli joined the Peter Moss Acute Myeloid & Lymphoblastic Leukemia AI Research Project in 2019 and continued as a volunteer for Asociación de Investigacion en Inteligencia Artificial Para la Leucemia Peter Moss and Peter Moss Leukaemia MedTech Research.
His contribution is focusing in implementing deep learning approaches to discriminate cancer cell from health. He is aiming to use deep learning in retrieve biology findings to help research against cancer. Moreover, he is interested in writing tutorials that would allow a broader community to approach deep learning in biology.
